EMDR
EMDR
If you're feeling stuck in painful memories, overwhelming emotions, or patterns that don’t seem to change, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to keep carrying it all on your own.
I offer EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful, research-backed approach that helps people process and heal from past trauma, anxiety, and other distressing experiences. EMDR doesn’t require you to talk in detail about every memory. Instead, it helps your brain "unstick" what's been keeping you in survival mode and move toward real healing — often faster than traditional talk therapy alone.
Whether you’ve been through something big or are just tired of feeling overwhelmed, EMDR can help you reconnect with a calmer, more grounded version of yourself.
My Approach: Healing the Mind, Body, and Soul Through EMDR
While EMDR may be your main focus coming to therapy, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I integrate talk therapy rooted in Narrative Therapy and Humanistic principles to support and deepen the EMDR process — because your story is more than a series of symptoms, and your healing deserves to reflect the full complexity of who you are.
As we move through EMDR, we’ll also explore the broader context of your life — the patterns you're noticing, the beliefs you carry, the values that matter to you, and how your body responds to safety and stress. I see healing as a mind-body-soul process, and I bring that lens to every session. This means we’re not just processing trauma — we’re also reconnecting with your strengths, your story, and your sense of self.
Narrative therapy helps us make meaning of what you’ve been through, gently reshaping the internal stories that may have kept you stuck. A Humanistic approach ensures our work is grounded in empathy, trust, and collaboration — I’ll always see you as the expert of your own life, with the innate capacity to heal and grow.
EMDR is a powerful tool — and when it’s supported by relational, personalized therapy that honors all parts of you, it can open the door to lasting transformation.

What to Expect in EMDR
Starting EMDR can feel like a big step, so I’m here to make the process feel as safe and supportive as possible. Here's what you can generally expect:
We’ll start slow.
Before any EMDR begins, we take time to get to know each other, build trust, and understand what you’re wanting support with. You’re always in control.
EMDR is never rushed. You choose what you want to work on, and we go at a pace that feels right for you. We’ll prepare together.
You’ll learn grounding and calming tools so you feel steady and supported during the process.Processing happens gently.
When you're ready, we use things like eye movements or tapping while you think about certain memories. You don’t need to talk about every detail — your brain does a lot of the work internally. It’s not about reliving the past.
EMDR helps your brain reprocess what happened so it doesn’t feel as overwhelming. You might still remember the event, but it won’t carry the same emotional weight. We’ll check in often.
Throughout the process, I’ll make sure you're feeling safe, supported, and grounded. You’ll notice changes over time.
Many people feel lighter, more present, and less reactive — often in ways they didn’t expect.
