Hi, I’m Abbey Vince
About me:
I grew up in Long Beach, CA, with my family, and later moved to Washington, D.C. to attend American University, where I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology. Growing up, I was always active in sports like swimming, soccer, running, and junior lifeguards. This love for staying active led me to start competing in triathlons at the age of 9. I competed nationally for 15 years until an injury encouraged me to take a step back.
Since 2018, I've had the privilege of working as an Ocean Lifeguard with the Long Beach Fire Department, and in 2022, I joined the LA County Fire Department. In both roles, I’ve taken on several responsibilities beyond lifeguarding, including teaching Junior Lifeguard programs. Over the years, I’ve also gotten involved in surf lifesaving, a sport that combines ocean lifeguarding with athletic competition. It’s taken me to national and international events and even brought me to South Africa multiple times to compete and volunteer as a lifeguard.
In 2024, I completed my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. I trained at the California Family Institute in Costa Mesa, and now I’m excited to start my practice here in the South Bay. I’ve always loved LA, and I can’t wait to meet and connect with all the wonderful people in this community.
When I’m not working, I’m usually in the ocean, gardening, enjoying time with my family and friends, traveling, or hanging out with my three dogs—Rey, Jam, and Bodhi. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you and working together soon!
