Trauma Therapy

Healing from Trauma with Compassion, Connection, and Evidence-Based Care

At Abbey Rose Therapy, I specialize in helping adults heal from the deep and lasting effects of trauma. Whether you're living with the aftermath of a single traumatic event or carrying the weight of complex, chronic experiences—such as childhood neglect, abuse, or relational trauma—our work together will be grounded in safety, empathy, and respect for your unique story.

I integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Narrative Therapy, and a Humanistic approach to support your healing in a way that honors your pace, values, and lived experience.

Understanding Trauma

Trauma isn’t always about one event—it can be the ongoing impact of difficult experiences that leave you feeling disconnected, unsafe, or stuck. You may find yourself reliving moments you wish you could forget, struggling with relationships, or carrying heavy feelings like shame, guilt, or anxiety.

Trauma therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your story and reclaim your sense of self.

Diagnoses & Concerns I Work With:

I support individuals experiencing trauma in its many forms, including but not limited to:

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Complex PTSD (C-PTSD)

  • Developmental or Childhood Trauma

  • Sexual Abuse & Assault Recovery

  • Domestic Violence Survivors

  • Medical Trauma

  • Grief & Loss

  • Anxiety Disorders

  • Depression related to trauma

  • Dissociative symptoms

  • Self-esteem & identity struggles stemming from trauma

  • Borderline Personality Disorder

My Approach to Trauma Therapy

Narrative Therapy

We begin by exploring your personal story—not just what’s happened to you, but how you’ve made sense of it. This collaborative process allows you to separate your identity from the problem and reconnect with your strengths, values, and hopes. Your story is yours to tell—and to reshape.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR is a well-researched, evidence-based method for processing traumatic memories. It helps the brain "unstick" and reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer hold power over your present. Clients often experience significant relief from PTSD, anxiety, and other symptoms after EMDR.

Humanistic Therapy

At the heart of all our work is a deep belief in your capacity to grow and heal. With warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, we focus on what it means to be human in the face of hardship—and how you can live a fuller, more authentic life.
